ℹ️ About this data
- Sourced from NASA's Exoplanet Archive (Caltech/IPAC), refreshed daily. Only confirmed planets are included — candidates awaiting confirmation aren't in this list.
- A blank field means that measurement hasn't been published for that planet — not every planet has a known mass, for instance, especially ones found only by the transit method (which measures radius directly, but needs a separate technique like radial velocity to get mass).
📏 Units and symbols legend
| Symbol |
Means |
In metric |
| R⊕ | Earth radii — planet size relative to Earth (Earth = 1) | 1 R⊕ ≈ 6,371 km |
| M⊕ | Earth masses — planet mass relative to Earth (Earth = 1) | 1 M⊕ ≈ 5.972 × 10²⁴ kg |
| R☉ | Solar radii — host star size relative to the Sun (Sun = 1) | 1 R☉ ≈ 696,000 km |
| M☉ | Solar masses — host star mass relative to the Sun (Sun = 1) | 1 M☉ ≈ 1.989 × 10³⁰ kg |
| K | Kelvin — temperature (star surface or planet equilibrium) | °C = K − 273.15 (shown alongside on each planet's page) |
| pc | Parsecs — distance from Earth | 1 pc ≈ 3.086 × 10¹³ km ≈ 3.26 light-years |
| days | Orbital period — time for one full orbit around the host star, always in Earth days regardless of the planet | Earth's own orbital period is 365.25 days — divide by that to get Earth years |
| RA / Dec | Right ascension / declination — the star's position on the sky | Both in degrees — the sky's equivalent of longitude/latitude |
| Eccentricity | How elongated the orbit is | Unitless: 0 = perfect circle, closer to 1 = more elongated ellipse |
Astronomy uses Earth/Sun/Jupiter as yardsticks instead of kg or km because the numbers involved (10²⁴–10³⁰) are unwieldy otherwise — for scale, a gas giant like Jupiter is about 11 R⊕ and 318 M⊕.
