Description
MVP offers investigators the opportunity to safely and economically conduct the widest range of experiment types as well as the maximum throughput of fluidic and biological research in microgravity on the ISS in the minimum amount of rack space. The MVP provides dual centrifuges which can rotate from 0-2 G independent of each other. The MVP is designed primarily for life and microgravity sciences research on ISS. It provides an innovative way to leverage existing ISS facilities for new scientific research. The open and modular architecture of the platform makes it compatible with any type of experiment conceivable that meets the MVP housing size, temperature, power, and data specifications. The potential uses of the MVP are numerous such as cell culture, drosophila, aquatics, plants, algae, invertebrate organisms and protein crystal growth.
