Completed TRL 2 (started at 2, targeting 2)
The Lunar Safe Haven Seedling Study has performed a trade study to determine what system(s) should be manifested in the Artemis campaign to protect crew and systems on the lunar surface from the harsh lunar environment (e.g., radiation). Also evaluated 15 concept options using decision analysis techniques. The study evaluated 15 concept options using decision analysis techniques. Additionally, Level Zero requirements as well as derived, system-level requirements have been defined.
This study has identified which technologies must be matured and what challenges to overcome (e.g., constructability) in order to build a Lunar Safe Haven. A new mission for the Lunar Safe Haven could be proposed to be added to HEOMD’s Artemis manifest, in time to protect the crew and exploration systems during the “Sustained Lunar Presence” phase.

This is early/mid-stage (TRL 2) — the most realistic path in is NASA SBIR/STTR, which funds small businesses and research institutions to develop technology aligned with NASA's needs (equity-free, phased funding). Check whether a current SBIR/STTR solicitation topic overlaps with this project's technology area, or contact the project directly (above) to ask.
None of these are guaranteed paths for this specific project — TechPort itself doesn't have an "apply" button. Reaching out to the contact(s) above with a specific question is usually the fastest way to find out what's actually open.
