Description

Working with Armstrong, Langley, and Glenn, Sensuron developed a miniature, rugged temperature monitoring solution using a fiber optic sensing system (FOSS). The technology is designed to monitor cryogenic propellant levels and determine a fuel tank's structural integrity throughout an extended mission.

Benefits

Sensuron’s interrogators monitor strain and temperature distributions by transforming an optical fiber into a spatially continuous sensor that performs like thousands of strain gauges or thermocouples installed adjacent to one another. This allows significantly more data to be captured than traditional sensors, with less instrumentation, saving time and labor costs.
