Description

Plan and execute sonic boom tests with the X-59 aircraft over large non-experienced communities within the U.S. in an effort to provide a robust dose-response database of community annoyance vs appropriate noise metrics to the FAA and ICAO to inform overland supersonic flight regulations

Benefits

• Provide scientifically valid dose-response database of relationship of human response to low sonic booms (thumps) to ICAO
• Data will be used to support new rule making for en route noise limits opening the way for future commercial supersonic market
