Particle Impact Simulation and Ignition Prediction Year 1 of 3

Description

An experimentally calibrated tool is needed to predict if a system is susceptible to failure by particle impact ignition based on use conditions, materials, and flow geometry. This tool will accelerate new components, evaluating existing hardware, and help disposition anomalies.

This project will contribute to the fundemental understanding of particle imapct that will result in an analytical tool to be used for increasing the reliability and safety of high pressure oxygen rich rocket components and also ECLSS.
