A Novel Approach of Sensitive Infrared Signal Detection for Space Applications

Description

Due to the limited performance of IR detectors, it is difficult to detect weak IR signal with high signal to noise ratio. We developed a periodically poled lithium niobate (PPLN) based frequency up- conversion device to efficiently convert the infrared signals into visible/near-infrared signals and detect this signal by using well- developed silicon detector.
