Description

Tested a paper-based printed electrochemical biosensor that can accept fluids such as blood or urine for the purposes of crew monitoring.

Benefits

This platform uses capillary action through the paper substrate, which works in microgravity, and the sensor fabrication is accomplished using simple piezoelectric drop-on-demand printers to define the microfluidic channels and electrodes.
