Develop Citizen Science at JPL by connecting scientists with engineers to identify science measurement needs that can be performed by the public and the technology or software development that will address them.
The workshop identified several missions and mission classes that could benefit from citizen science. Three types of activities that citizen scientists could most benefit were data Reduction, leveraging smart phone technology, and sensor development. Applications included ground truthing Earth applications, tracking Jupiter clouds, and searching for exoplanets.
