Using Graphics Processing Units to Accelerate CFD Simulations Requiring General Gas Chemistry

Description

Computational fluid dynamics simulations of such flows require general gas chemistry models that can be very expensive Significant performance improvements have recently been demonstrated using FUN3D for perfect gas applications on Graphics Processing Unit (GPU) architectures Goal is to extend these efficiencies to simulations involving generic gas chemistry models Use FUN3D to simulate real gas applications Review and analyze implementation and performance of kernels containing physical models relevant to retropropulsion applications Develop GPU implementation for relevant kernels Evaluate and optimize performance using representative test cases Large-scale demonstrations for real gas models of increasing fidelity
