Compact and LWIR-Augmented WARS (CLAW), Year 2

Description

Test and evaluate prototype WARS system to characterize system performance, and determine what design improvements may be made. Update design from functional check to much more compact. Evaluate new technology for potential addition of LWIR capability to measure to lower temperatures.

Benefits

The primary benefit of successfully developing WARS is significantly increasing the ability to reliably obtain high temperature structural data during ground or flight tests of reentry or high speed flight vehicles. Additionally, the system simplifies vehicle integration, and does not have EMI concerns as can a thermocouple-based measurement system.
