Fluidic Integration of Inkjet Printed Sensors (FLIIPS)

Description

Develop ISM (in-space manufacturing)-compatible 3D-printed fluidic hardware to support integration of inkjet-printed electrochemical sensors while minimizing the need for additional components. This capability will improve the utility and versatility of ISM sensors for liquid samples and allows further customization of sensor architectures during development and during space missions.

Benefits

This work mitigates the need to include multiple prefabricated sensors in spaceflight payloads, instead allowing production of sensors on an as-needed basis by additive manufacturing techniques such as 3D-printing and inkjet printing.
