Scale up Li-ion battery cases using integrated, conformal oscillating heat pipes to both prevent thermal runaway and address high power usage scenarios with decreased mass and volume.
This technology will prevent the thermal runaway of an 18650 cell from becoming a mission-ending catastrophe for an entire mission. It can do so with one of the best available power densities, as well as enabling sustained high power operation for situations such as takeoff in an electric airplane, drilling operations on the moon, or powered flight on another planet.
