Model-Based Safety and Mission Assurance Implementation (MBSMAI) and Testing

Description

This is a cross-cutting process feasibility and improvement investment for digitally enabling SMA mission support capabilities and leverages Digital Engineering (DE) platforms (i.e., modeling tools and more) and capabilities from previous NASA investments. Model-Based Safety and Mission Assurance Implementation (MBSMAI) will answer the questions: Is Model-Based Engineering/Digital Engineering (MBE/DE) valid and usable for all SMA Engineering disciplines? What is needed to enable model-based/digital SMA? Does modeling and digital transformation assist with SMA Consistency, Efficiency, and Accuracy operational improvement needs? It will also provide a roadmap for SMA intradisciplinary MBSMA/digital engineering, SMA discipline digital transformations, and interdisciplinary digital engineering (e.g., SMA to Systems Engineering) integration that will enhance GSFC”s competitive advantage for mission awards (resulting in increased proposal wins) since development SMA costs and schedules will be reduced, and effectiveness will be elevated.
