Description

The overall goal for Year Four of the Nevada NASA EPSCoR Research Infrastructure Development (RID) program is: Continue to improve Nevada's research infrastructure and competitiveness by enhancing existing or building new research programs and collaborations that align with the State's and NASA's strategic objectives. Specific objectives Nevada NASA EPSCoR has targeted to meet our RID goal in Year 4 include: Objective 1: Enhance research infrastructure by competitively awarding at least two research development seed grants. Grants will be relevant to both NASA and Nevada strategic science plans and will result in the submission of at least one competitive proposal. It is hoped that at least one of the seed grants will be in response to the new NASA EPSCoR and Commercial Spaceflight Development Division research initiative. Objective 2: Promote the planning and implementation of training workshops that will foster collaboration and the development of skills and knowledge to improve Nevada research infrastructure. A maximum of two training workshops may be funded and at least one competitive research proposal will be submitted as a result of each funded workshop. Objective 3: Facilitate new research collaborations among NASA Centers and Nevada System of Higher Education faculty by awarding travel grants. A maximum of six travel awards may be funded and will result in NASA collaboration on at least one competitive research proposal.
