4D Tomography Study

Description
Study ways to characterize and quantify 4D measurements such as PBL thermodynamics, cloud/aerosol processes or carbon flux without having to measure every parameter needed on a demanding temporal scale. For this challenge, tomographic techniques for measuring cloud/aerosol processes could be a promising approach and we would like to explore this technique and report the outcome to ESTO. We will identify key science questions, associated geophysical variables and measurement requirements, and candidate measurement techniques for promising areas for atmospheric tomography. Furthermore, we will evaluate the utility of tomography for the PBL using a simplified OSSE framework
