Description
Advances in graphene may help close a large consumable gap in spacecraft water recovery systems. This project is investigating novel graphene materials for use in high-capacity water filtration devices. The new graphene materials are expected to far outperform the state-of-the-art (SOA) filtration media with the possibility to last entire missions. When successful; this project is expected to provide enhanced microbial and chemical contaminant removal in flow through water filtration devices that have the possibility of lasting entire mission lifecycles.
Benefits
Advancement in this technology is anticipated to have benefits for water processing and reuse for both Earth and space.
