Description
Technical Approach Details: Task 1&2: Augmenting the NASA Prithvi WxC foundation model for precipitation simulation and downscaling. Task 3: Coupling the AI-based climate/weather emulator to NEX dynamic vegetation models. We only consider the one-way coupling from the atmosphere to the terrestrial biosphere in this project. Task 4: Conduct ensemble model experiments with selected CMIP6 models to evaluate the responses of ecosystem and biodiversity to climate changes in selected study domains (e.g., arid/semiarid regions in tropics or midlatitudes).
