This project will focus on high-fidelity modeling and subsystem demonstrations to support future development of “ultra-stable” optical systems beyond current state-of-the-art technologies
Benefits
NASA Astrophysics Division (APD) has issued contracts to industry to carry out a two-year Habitable Worlds Observatory (HWO) critical technologies maturation development program. These critical technologies include system approaches to ultra-stability and integrated coronagraphs that advance the design maturity (e.g., Technology Readiness Level (TRL) of components and system) and identify future technology investments. These advancements will enable HWO maturation and implementation strategies.
