Develop common 19" and 9.5" size instrumentation rack for existing travel pod along with common interface for power, data, and GPS antenna connection. Flight test updated pod. Develop user guide for researchers to be able to utilize pod.
Benefits
Development and flight test of Technology Maturation Pod, a low cost resource to enable rapid incubation of sensors which require testing in a flight environment. These typically include remote sensing instruments such as radars, lidars, sounders, hyperspectral imagers for space and aeronautics applications. The Technology Maturation Pod lowers the effort required to take new technologies leaving the lab environment to advance TRL rapidly from 3 to 5 or 6 by enabling flight on the low cost, single pilot T-34 aircraft
