Description
1) Develop a complete set of requirements for the front-end antenna limb scanning and calibration-target viewing optics for IIP-19 developed C-MLS instrument 2) As currently configured, the A-SMLS instrument only observes two spectral bands, from 324–327 GHz, and 344–347 GHz. Increase this coverage from two to four spectral bands, providing measurements of 321–327 GHz, and 342–348 GHz, more directly aligned with the C-MLS measurements. 3) Use the C-MLS brassboard instrument to quantify the factors driving this calibration uncertainty, and identify routes to their potential amelioration, implementing and testing any of these that prove accessible.
