The mSTAR instrument will investigate a fundamental assumption of physics by searching for variations in the speed of light as a function of velocity of the reference frame. The discovery of such dependencies would revolutionize physics, our understanding of how the Universe began and have profound implications for astrophysics, Special Relativity and the Standard Model that describes the physics of matter and energy.
