Lab prototype of a tunable pulsed fiber laser

Benefits

This new laser technology is a factor of ten smaller than the state of the art laser systems that are used for the detection of OH. This laser technology will enable the reduction in the size of instruments that are used to detect OH.

This laser will have the capability of detecting OH by laser in airborne instrumentation. The instrumentation will be small enough to fly on most NASA aircraft.
