Development of Floating Slosh Dampers for Propellant Tanks - FY18

Description

The overall objective of the project is to determine the practicality of a floating damper consisting of hollow spheres. This will involve a thorough literature search followed by a number of test cases with accompanying data analysis. The following test cases are notionally envisioned to meet these objectives. Each of these tests will use PE spheres floating in a water tank.

Floating baffles have the potential to reduce weight, cost and complexity of slosh control devices.
