Completed TRL 2 (started at 2, targeting 2)
We propose to leverage existing GSFC simulation and Attitude Control System development tools to create easy-to-use, modular, and extendable Attitude Control Flight Software for SmallSat missions. The FY19 task will
build a ready-to-use ACS design and analysis software suite,
map future software features for the next two years,
transform legacy ACS algorithms into pre-designed software modules,
provide guidelines and frameworks for software customization, and
implement core flight software (cFS) compatible ACS software.
Our tool will provide system engineers and scientists a way to “get things started” and enable experienced ACS analysts to extend preliminary designs to meet more detailed mission requirements.
Listed on TechPort itself — the most direct way to ask about this specific project.
This is early/mid-stage (TRL 2) — the most realistic path in is NASA SBIR/STTR, which funds small businesses and research institutions to develop technology aligned with NASA's needs (equity-free, phased funding). Check whether a current SBIR/STTR solicitation topic overlaps with this project's technology area, or contact the project directly (above) to ask.
None of these are guaranteed paths for this specific project — TechPort itself doesn't have an "apply" button. Reaching out to the contact(s) above with a specific question is usually the fastest way to find out what's actually open.
